Bible journaling is time spent expressing your faith creatively. It is writing, coloring, taking notes, and in other ways creatively expressing yourself in your Bible or in a notebook alongside your Bible. Putting pen to paper is a great way to remember and record biblical concepts that are meaningful and relevant to your life.

You don’t have to be creative. Stay focused on what matters, which is your time with God. While some people are quite talented and creative, this is not a contest! Our evening will open with a devotion, prayer, and scripture reading. This will be followed by time to quiet your heart, reflect, and be still before journaling. Even if you just write your thoughts or prayers in the margin, you are connecting with God’s Word. The Bible’s very first verse tells us that “in the beginning God created.” You are created in God’s image. He created you to be creative, and you are….in whatever way His Spirit moves you to think and respond to His Word. Admire the work of others but don’t compare – remember He loves YOU beyond compare!
Coloring pages, paper, and a variety of art supplies will be available for your use thanks to a grant from Thrivent. You may want to consider purchasing a journaling notebook or Bible.
